Private Pilot Licence
Private Pilot License is a qualification that permits the holder to act as the pilot of an aircraft or helicopter for non-commercial flights, i.e. not for remuneration. PPL is the most common type of license in General Aviation.
For future professional pilots, the Private Pilot License is also the first step in the aviation career.
Privileges of Private Pilot Licence
The holder of a PPL may act, but not for remuneration, as pilot-in-command or Co-Pilot of any aircraft engaged in non-revenue flights for which his License is endorsed.
Before exercising the privileges at night, the License holder shall have a Night Rating.
Before carrying passenger, the Licence holder shall have a Passenger Rating.
Requirements
- Valid Pakistani Student Pilot License (SPL)
- FRTOL endorsed on the SPL
- Minimum 17 Years of Age
- Valid Medical Certificate (At least Class 2) by CAMB
Flying Experience
Integrated Course
Flight training course of PPL shall comprise of 40 hours. Duration of the course is 8 months, starting from the issue of SPL.
Modular Course
Flight training of PPL shall comprise of 50 hours. There is no time limit for this course; however the student pilot must have flown 10 hours in the 3 months preceding the issue of PPL.
Theoretical Knowledge
The Student Pilots, while undergoing the training for the issue of PPL has to prepare for 7 PCAA exams. Student shall undergo ground training in the following subjects:
- Air Law
- Aircraft General Knowledge (AGK)
- Flight Performance & Planning
- Meteorology
- Mass & Balance
- Navigation
- Operational Procedures (AIP, NOTAMS, Aeronautical Codes and Abbreviations)
- Principles of Flight
- Human Performance and Limitations
- Radiotelephony
